The POS terminal has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interface in a residential installation. This equipment generates and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used according to the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is not guarantee that interface will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which is found by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interface by one or more of the following measures:

 

l       Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna

l       Increase the separation between the equipment or device

l       Connect the equipment to an outlet other than the receiver¡¦s

l       Consult a dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for assistance

WARRANTY LIMITS

If the POS terminal is opened by any person other than the authorized technicians, the warranty will then automatically terminated.  The user should consult his/her dealer for any technical problems. Warranty voids if the user does not follow the instructions in application of this product. The manufacturer is by no means responsible for any damage or hazard caused by improper use.

Safety Important Information

 

²          Read all of these instructions carefully.

 

²          Use only parts, especially power adapter, recommended by the manufacturer; unapproved parts may be hazardous.

 

²          Before plug the power cord on the AC inlet of the power supply unit, please make sure that power switch is on correct voltage either 115V or 230V to avoid the damage of the power supply unit.

 

²          Power off the POS terminal and remove the power adapter when clean the system.

 

²          Before power on the POS terminal, please check if all the peripheral are all install firmly.

 

²          Do not use the POS terminal near water, for example near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub or near a swimming pool. Avoid installing the system exposed to direct sunlight, near a heating or a radiator.                        

 

²          Do not place the POS terminal on an unstable cart, stand or table. If the machine falls, it could injure a person or cause serious damage to the appliance.

 

²          The POS terminal is equipped with a three-wire grounded plug, a plug with a third (grounding) pin. This is a safety feature. If your outlet does not accommodate the three-wire plug, have an electrician install the correct outlet, or use an adapter to ground the appliance safely. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the grounded plug.

 

²          Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. Do not locate the POS terminal where people may walk on the cord.

 

²          Do not overload power outlet and extension cords. Overload can result in fire or electric shock.

 

²          Do not push any object into the POS terminal cabinet. It could touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts resulting in a fire or electric shock.


²          Do not attempt to service the monitor by yourself, opening or removing cover can expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards.

 

²          The POS terminal must not be operated in an environment with restricted ventilation.

 

²          Unplug the systems from the power outlet immediately and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:

 

u          When the power cord or plug is damaged or frayed.

u          If liquid has been spilled into the system.

u          If the system has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged.

1. Unpacking

 

The following part list is for reference only. Due to different options, the parts content in the package may be difference. If any of the items are damaged or missing, please contact your supplier immediately.  Please keep the packing materials for further usage such as moving or shipping the system and etc.

2.       POSmall Overview

 

This is a durable, smart and compact sized P4 level POS terminal for retail/POS applications. For the security requirements of the POS business, a lockable front panel is provided to seal the CD ROM and the on/off switch to secure data and avoid the unintended power off the system. In the POS terminal, there are 4 COM ports, among the ports, COM 3 and COM 4 ports are able to select to provide DC power support for eliminating the usage of external power supply for POS devices. To up-grade or for after service purposes, just replace a mother board with mini flex ATX form factor into the case.

3.       Setting to select the DC power supply on COM 3 and COM 4

The default setting of the COM 3 and COM 4 are not provided DC power on the two com ports.

 

 

4.       CD ROM Disk 1.6 (or later version)

 

The bundled CD ROM DISK provides drivers applicable to the POS terminal and our other products. If no POS-500 subdirectory is found on the CD ROM disk, please visit our web site www.fametech.com.tw to down lord it.

 

 

5.       LED indicators

 

There are two LED indicators on the front of the terminal. The RED LED indicates power on and the green LED indicates while LAN is on working.

 

There is another green LED on the power connector to the terminal. The green LED on indicates the power adapter at on status.
